Difficulty: Moderate
Distance to Letterbox: 2 miles or so
Located above the normal Peyto Lake viewing deck. Better views and less people!!!
Directions:
From Lake Louise, go north on Hwy 1, then soon turn right onto Hwy 93 toward Jasper. Go past Bow Lake, to Peyto lake turnoff on left. Turn left and then right into parking area. Park
To the Letterbox:
Go to far end of parking area to trail shelter. Take paved trail up to viewing deck. Take in view. Now go back to paved path leading off to the right. Take it up to loop sign. Take right path of loop until reach large metal post sign on right. Go right on dirt path and follow various paths up the canyon (paths will all come together down lower). After about 200 yards you will reach open area and rock outcropping overlook. Get pictures!!!. Now go a little past rocks, then left up the bald slope to the tree line and 2nd flat rock near the trees. 5 feet further is a lone pine tree with dirt trail to right of it. Box is behind that tree under rocks.
