Walking distance: about 0.1 mile one way
Trail difficulty: fairly easy, flat and partially paved and partially dirt.

The answers to the questions in the clues for this webbox are located in Russell Cave National Monument in northern Alabama. Letterboxes are not allowed to be physically placed in national parks and monuments and other sites administered by the U. S. National Park Service. So, I have created this webbox. You must actually visit the area of the clues; however, you need to go to the Web to obtain your finders stamp.

Go to Russell Cave National Monument. Park in the lot by the visitor center.

Walk through the visitor center and out the back door to the trail to the cave. Look for a colorful interpretive sign titled “Spring Migration”. In the 1st paragraph on the left below the subtitle “Returning Home in the Spring” (starts with the words “Each year millions …”), in the 5th line, what is the 2nd word _____?

Now, walk on the boardwalk to the cave entrance where there are multiple interpretive signs. Look for the sign titled “First Potters and Farmers”. In the 1st paragraph on the right under the subtitle “Woodland Period” (starts with the words “The Woodland Period …”, in the 2nd line, what is the 4th word _____?

To create the mystery word, put the word from the second question on the end of the word from the first question (without spaces). Paste the mystery word (all letters lower case) into this URL (replacing the question marks “???” with the mystery word):

Now, plug/paste/type the new URL into your web browser and you will have completed your search for the Russell Cave Monument Webbox.

Please record your find at .
