The Marine Mammal Care Center at Fort MacArthur rehabilitates marine mammals rescued from the LA County coastline. It is a hospital for sick and injured mammals. They primarily treat and release rescued California sea lions, northern elephant seals, Pacific harbor seals, and northern fur seals.

The center is open to the public every day during day light hours. There are multiple outside rehabilitation pools that can be observed by visitors. Before visiting check out their website for a Wish List - please consider bringing a donation to help the injured animals.

The letterbox:
In the parking lot you will notice 2 large shipping containers. Both permanent containers are painted with animals - find the shipping container painted with a large orca. Facing the orca-decorated container, walk around the container to the left. Locate the first open rectangular "hole" on the backside of the container next to the rain "gutter" at the base of the container. Reach inside and you will find your prize!
