Talisheek Treasure Chest
Talisheek, LA
St. Tammany Parish
Planted by J. Dillon
5/25/2003
Note: Lots of downed trees in the area from Hurricane Katrina. Clues updated on 4/30/2006.
This is the first letterbox/geocache hybrid in Louisiana.
Your starting point will be the Holmes Cemetary, near the junction of LA 41 and the LA 435 Spur, north of Talisheek, LA. From the Holmes Cemetary sign, look for a sign at 10. From this new point bear 158 and look for a trail into the woods. Use caution and find the correct trail. You are looking for one that a vehicle could not drive on. The trail is actually a gully between 2 small hills Follow the gully till it makes an "S". Follow through the "S" until your trail is blocked by a pine log (about 6-8 inches in diameter). From this log go about 20 feet at 120.
This box has a stamp and log book and some cache items to trade.
Please note that digging is not required. Look for this box on http://www.geocaching.com and use zipcode 70464.
