The Talimena Scenic Drive is a National Scenic Byway offering 54 miles of spectacular views and incredible scenery in eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas. It extends from near Talihina, OK to near Mena, AR with many scenic stops along the way. Near the border with Oklahoma is a pullout for Pioneer Cemetery, where at the end of a short trail is the small community cemetery of Rich Mountain and this minibox.
Directions:
Traveling east on the Talimena Byway, continue from the border between Oklahoma and Arkansas for a few miles to Pioneer Cemetery on the right.
Clues:
Go down the steps and walk about 200 yards on a gravel path to the Pioneer Cemetery. Continue on the path for about 20 more yards to the Ouachita Trail sign. Turn right on the trail towards the state line and walk about 50 steps. Look right for a double-trunk tree about 5 steps off trail. The camo minibox is behind the tree under some rocks. Please rehide well.
