Box checked in on, and in good shape, Spring 2005
Location: Nantucket, MA
Lost and looking for the highest elevation on Nantucket Isle
We spotted a local who greeted us with a smile
"Trying to find the source of radio waves," we said.
"Turn across from the Quaise Road, by the gate that’s red.
It can be tricky to find the rocky road."
We set off on the altared path with our load.
Once at the facility,
We found a rock group at a higher frequency.
Then, heading further on up the road.
We pressed on a ways to the next hill in an easterly mode.
Compasses in hand, atop the second height
At 100 degrees, the goal was in sight.
We spotted the evergreen that helped us solve the riddle.
Between us and Sankaty Light, it was in the middle.
Bearing left down the hill, we kept on track,
Ignoring two asides that would set us back.
We came to the third lane on the right side
And that turn we walked with pride.
[You can drive this far, but go on foot from here]
The narrow path did us lead
To the evergreen indeed
Across from which was the treasure.
We placed this prize for your pleasure.
