I adopted this lettterbox on April 16, 2014.

The box has been missing for many years. I will replace it when I can get back up there!

Directions to Trailhead:
From Hwy 179 you take Schnebly Hill Rd. for 0.8 miles up to the trailhead parking lot on the left.

Old clues:

Hiking Time: Approximately 1/2 hour one way
Hike difficulty: moderately difficult

Clues:
Walk west from the parking lot on Marg’s Draw Tr. You can see the town of Sedona in the distance as you walk down the trail. After a few minutes you come to an intersection where the Huckaby Tr. continues to go straight (west) and the Marg’s Draw Tr. turns left (south). Take Marg’s Draw Tr. and cross Schnebly Hill Rd. As you go down the trail you will cross several small washes. After approximately 15 minutes you will be able to see Snoopy Rock up to your left.
After walking another 15- 25 minutes you will go down slight hill with a clear view of Twin Buttes ahead and Cathedral Rock off in the distance, to the right of Twin Buttes. Across this wash you can see rocks on the far side in the trail that look like a series of wide steps. If you come to an intersection with a sign, that says Marg’s Draw Trail, and with a trail the goes to the right, you’ve gone too far.
Standing in the wash at the bottom of the hill you just walked down there’s a prominent juniper tree on the right side of the wash right beside the trail. Look for another prominent juniper 20 yards up the wash to the left, shaped somewhat like a V.
Walk up the wash to the left approximately 40 yards. Leave the wash and walk up to the left, look for a white rock about 1’ tall. Find a small trail 20 yards past the white rock.
Follow this trail to your right for approximately 130 yards until you get to a large juniper, with a small pinyon pine growing very close to it, beside a slick rock shelf, part of a small drainage. Continuing to face the direction you were walking, stand with the juniper to your right. Now go up the hill to your left, at a bearing of 8o on a compass, to the top of a small red rock shelf up hill. When you step up the short distance to the top of the red rock shelf you’ll see an ocotillo with a dead and down tree to its left (the tree has a small red rock in its roots). There is a small trail that leads toward the cliff from behind the ocotillo. Follow this.
After about 25 yards it will intersect with another small trail, running right and left. Stop here and you’ll see a medium sized boulder with 3 horizontal cracks running through it 5 yards in front of you, climb up and stand behind this rock. The letterbox is in a burrow beneath and behind a rock that appears 5 yards directly to your left.
