Martini Man & I lived in Wisconsin all our lives until we moved to Arizona in 2016. We have lived in the Tucson area since then, but we come back to Wisconsin almost every year to visit family and friends. This is the second installment of a series to highlight things we miss about Wisconsin, and things we DON’T miss.

Park on a nearby street and enter F.G. Park on the path under the archway. This is a newer park and usually busy with children and families. Follow the main asphalt path as it curves around, stopping to learn about the popular resident and then curving around the interesting playground. Take another stop to watch kids enjoying the bike track. Continue onward and take a left at the first intersection and left again at the next. Admire the pond and waterfowl on your right and stop at the bench on the left. Take a bearing of 95° and walk 10-12 steps to a trio. Look carefully ALL ways (including across the pond) and then retrieve Box #1 from between the trunks. This is something we really miss and therefore indulge in every time we come back to WI. We highly recommend that you try some yourself! The box hiding spot is near the trail, so please wait to return it until no one else is nearby and be sure to cover it well.

Continue onward and take a left at the next intersection. You’ll pass a bench on your right and then come to a low Lannon stone wall. 4 low, 3 a bit higher and then some higher still. A hole beneath the second stone at this level is the hiding spot for Box #2, beneath some bark and behind a small rock. Again, this hiding spot is near the trail so please wait to retrieve & return it until no one else is nearby and be sure to cover it well. You can sit on the very narrow low ledge to look less conspicuous. The subject of this box is something we really try to avoid, but since our visit was in April this year, we may be suffering ….

Retrace your steps back to your vehicle, enjoying the park along the way.

Please let us know how the boxes are doing if you look for them. Thanks!
