Terrain Difficulty: Easy (flat, 50 yards RT)
Every winter I get together with friends at a ranch near Weimar to make sausage, so I decided to place a box nearby to mark the occasion. Since several of them are of German descent, alcohol is a big part of the event and is considered essential to the process. After the meat has been ground up, we gather around to "bless" it before stuffing in casings. This involves sprinkling some whiskey on the meat and everyone downing a shot to ensure the batch will be good. I'm not sure if this is necessary, but the sausage is always good, so we don't question the tradition. By finding this box you will be blessing my sausage, without a hangover!
Directions:
From Weimar, go east on Hwy 90 for 4.8 miles, then left on CR 217 for 1.1 miles to the old cemetery for the community of Borden on left and park by entrance gate.
Clues:
Walk through gate to back fence and go right along it 20 steps to a tall, stone marker in memory of Townsend. LB is at back under a large rock & leaves.
