-Park at the main trailhead at 1 Gifford Rd, Schenectady, NY 12304.
-Follow the blue trail markers down to the end of the paved path until it meets the lake.
-Continue to follow the blue trail on the right side of the lake on the path closest to the water until you see a bench overlooking the water.
-Continue walking and count three blue trail markers from the bench.
-At the third, walk forward towards the train tracks, where you'll see big cement blocks.
-It's a sandy area, I know that's true, but I know you can make it from the trail that is blue.
-Count 6 cement blocks in from the left.
-Find a tree between the 6th and 7th block.
-The letterbox is hidden on the bottom of the tree against the 7th block. At the time it was place it was hidden underneath leaves and a log. Please seal the box tightly and cover it back up when you're done :-)
Continue to enjoy your walk, or choose to head back. The blue lake loop is a 1.3 mile walk in total, and will take you back to the parking area. The red trail travels farther into the woods for a little longer walk, but also loops back to join the blue trail and return back to the trailhead.
