Since I have moved to this area, I have noticed some of the mountains have crosses atop of them. This one in particular seems to have just been put up this past winter. Except this cross lights up at night. If you come from Roxbury you might be able to see it. It is especially pretty at Christmas.
To get to this box, park at the top of Timmons Mountain, on either side. Take Timmons rd, or rt 641, from Roxbury. When you get near the top of the mountain,slow down and pull off on the left side of the road (coming from Roxbury). This is the side with the gates. Park here and walk past the gate. Spot the breathtaking view. After you do this spy this second gate. To the immediate left of it is an Oklahoma-shaped rock waist high. Look gateside, underneath the boulder in this crevice for your prize.
