Chicken Box Letterbox Clues
- Start at the Cider Mill Pond Trail head on Proctor Hill Road in Hollis.
- Follow the trail, go past the 3 boulders in a row.
- Stop to read about reptiles and amphibians.
- Read the sign about red foxes.
- At the fork in the trail take the right hand path to stay on Cider Mill Trail
- Turn left onto Sargent Trail.
- Read about whitetail deer. Continue right.
- Read about moose.
- Read about black bears.
- Go past 4 boulders on your right. Each one is bigger than the last. Look opposite the boulders - is that a sheep on the tree?
- Read about bobcats and admire the kittens.
- Follow the Heron Nest Trail.
- Read about great blue herons - can you see any nests or chicks?
- Read about the North American beavers.
- Follow the small trail on the left of the beaver sign. Approx. 20 paces in, on your left is a pile of dead wood. Look here for the letterbox!
