We camp here frequently because we love Parks Canada, and because it is sooo convenient! 5 minutes from landing off the ferry and you're home at your campsite :)
Arrive at the SMONEĆTEN campground on McDonald Park Road. Turn in past the gate and go up The hill about 70m. On your right is a short road to some sort of grounds keeping compound, on your left is a gravel foot trail with signs about the fauna marked with a boulder the size of a black bear. Follow the trail for a short distance, maybe 30m. As you go you will two educational signs on your left, providing indigenous names and description of plants living in the park. The second sign, telling you about sword fern, is the one you are interested in. The box is stuck to the back of the sign with magnets.
