A Beautiful Family Hike in Nature
Start your adventure on Hoftiezer Road, just outside of Oostburg.
Find the Sheboygan Interurban Trail and park in the small gravel lot.
With your family by your side and nature all around, head south on the trail.
Breathe deep. Listen for birdsong. Let the trees guide your way.
Soon, you’ll pass a bench placed in memory of Fr. Karl Voelker, S.J.
Keep walking south, and you'll come upon a dog treat station in memory of Harold Helmer.
(If you have a furry friend with you, now’s their moment of joy!)
Wait—did you see that? Was it Bigfoot?
As you enter a large section where trees line both sides of the path, look for power pole E51-11534—this is your starting point.
From here, count five power poles, including this one. You’re aiming for E51-11530.
Directly across from that pole stands a black hawthorn tree. About three feet high in the branches, nestled among the leaves, is your first letterbox.
Once you’ve stamped your find, turn around and head north back toward your car. But don’t stop there—the journey continues!
Keep walking north past your vehicle, crossing over a small bridge. From the bridge, count three power poles heading north.
From that third pole, walk 11 paces forward.
To your left, you’ll see a grouping of trees.
At the base of these trees, you’ll uncover your second letterbox.
Stamp and rehide.
