Created with love by the Maid of Honor 💍🌿

Take a walk through the story of two people who are about to get married! This letterboxing trail is a celebration of my sister, Alex and her fiancé Forrest's journey together—a tribute to the laughter, the quiet moments, the adventures, and the deep love they've shared.

Hidden along this path are nine special stops, each revealing one of Forrest’s favorite memories with the woman he's about to marry. With every letterbox you find, you'll uncover a new love note and a hand-carved stamp created to honor that moment.

This trail will remain here as a quiet witness to their story, and I hope this trail brings you closer to the heart of what makes their love so beautiful.

With love,
Sara
Maid of Honor

After the parking lot at Bluff Point State Park, walk to the main trail. You’ll see the trail map sign as well as the ‘Rules and Regulations' sign. Continue straight past these signs and onto the main path. Do not go left toward the porta potties, that is not the correct trail for this letterboxing sequence.

Start down the main path. The water will be on your right, and woods on your left.

Soon you’ll come to a fork in the path, bear right.

Continue down the path and eventually you’ll pass a bench on your right. Keep going! You’re getting close to box #1.

About 100 yards past the bench you’ll see a fallen tree with a clear cut stump on the left. Box #1 (Queen of Fluke) is tucked under the fallen log, behind the stump.

Go back to the main trail and continue in the direction you were traveling. The water will be on your right, and the woods on your left.

Soon you should start looking off to your left as you walk. You'll see within the woods lots of large rocks. They are a short distance into the woods, and not directly next to the trail. Box #2 is among these rocks. To find it, you’ll need to find a small entrance path to the rocks. It is not well worn. The particular rock with the letterbox is distinguished by a large tree with two smaller trees growing out from behind it. This triplet tree has a little nook in the center from where all three trees are growing and box #2 (Two Guinesses) is hidden in this nook. If you haven’t found the lightly treaded entrance to this rock with the three trees, but you’ve walked to post #2 on the trial, you’ve gone too far.

Go back to the trail and continue in the direction you were traveling. This time you’ll want to pass post #2. Soon after post #2 you’ll come to a large boulder right off the trail, on the left side. Box #3 (Lost Kitchen) is behind the rock, tucked into a little crevice.

Go back to the trail and continue in the direction you were traveling. As you go you’ll eventually come to a very well worn side path on the left. While there are a few well-worn side paths, this one in particular is about 30 yards back from a beachy clearing on the right. It is before the path curves to the left. Go down this side path until you come to a large rectangular and flat stone, used as a bridge. Cross this stone bridge and directly on the other side where the stone ends, there'll be a few smaller stones around the edge of the large flat bridge stone. Box #4 (The Proposal) is hidden under these small rocks.

Turn around and go back out to the main path and continue in the direction you were traveling (left). The water will be on your right, and the woods on your left. Soon the path begins to move into deeper woods away from the water. You’ll come to a low rock wall on the right. As you walk you’ll see a #4 Authorized Vehicles Only Sign on the left and a well-worn side path leading up into the woods right next to this sign. Go up this path a little ways and you’ll see two fallen trees that are well decayed and also fallen crisscross to each other. At the bottom point of the crisscross (closest to the path) you’ll find box # 5 (Space Cat) hidden.

Turn around and go back down the side path to the main trail. Continue to walk down the main train in the direction you were traveling (left).

Eventually you’ll come to a #6 post and see a side trail again going off to the left. You're going to take this side trail. This is where you'll leave the main path and cut through the woods. You'll meet up with the main path on the other side. It is a little steep and a little rocky. At the end of the side trail you’ll pop out of the woods and see a #19 sign right in front of you.

Take a left at this #19 sign to continue on the main path once again.

Right after you bear left, you’ll see an old homestead off to the right. You’ll see a nice bench under a tree and a shallow rock wall outlining the homestead and small garden area. Go in the entrance to the garden area and you’ll see a large boulder. On the right side of the boulder, hidden in a nook and covered by smaller rocks, you’ll find box #6 (Winter Skate).

Go back to the main path and continue down it in the same direction (left). It will continue to bear left away from the homestead.

Eventually you’ll come to a distinctively red fallen log. It has no bark and is well decayed but still very reddish. It is laying parallel to the path, and right next to the path as well. There is a rock next to this fallen red log, and box #7 (Dogs and Pigs), is right between the rock and the fallen tree.
The next two boxes are well spread out from each other, but they both are hidden before you reach the end of the main path as it will loop back to that initial fork.

Continue down the main path in the direction you were traveling. Eventually you’ll see a bench on your right. Continue to walk about 35 yards and keep a lookout on the right side of the path for a triangular hollowed-out tree stump. It is right next to the path. Inside this stump and buried under some woody debris is box #8 (Swamp Witch).

Continue down the main path in the direction you were traveling. Eventually you’ll pass a #25 sign, but keep going. Eventually you’ll come to a distinctive rock. It is a flat and rectangular rock, almost like a shelf. It has two sister trees growing out from the back. It is on the right side of the trail. Across from this rock shelf, on the opposite side of the trail you’ll see a small boulder with a bunch of fallen trees. Box #9 (A Real Savage Love) is behind the boulder, under some logs pushed up against the rock.

This is the end of this letterboxing sequence!
