You can find the entrance to this cool spot between 351 and 353 Tickle Road in Westport, MA. It has 43 acres to explore and half a mile of trails to hike. The area is full of neat trees and a freshwater marsh right next to South Watuppa Pond, which is one of the biggest natural ponds in Massachusetts! The trails are great for a short walk, and the area connects to even more open spaces in Fall River, MA, and Tiverton, RI. This awesome place was saved thanks to the Westport Community Preservation Fund and some kind people who donated money.

Now for your clues...

When arriving you can park just in front of the trailhead along the road. Make your way down the path heading towards the purple trail. You may come across some friendly chickens off to the left who are typically outside prancing around their turf.
Continue through the opening to this exploration area and head towards the big boulder on the left. Just ahead you will see a fork in the road where your purple trail will begin. Maneuver through the downed tree on the path with another majestic boulder on the right. Trudge along the path towards a cool uprooted tree making your way to a neat little manmade structure. It reminds me of a cool fort I would make as a kid. Just down the path you are going to come across a tree on your left that has two round knots at the base. They sort of look like googly eyes. To the left of the tree you should see what looks like a misplaced rock. If you moooooooooooove the rock just underneath the tree you will find your treasure. Please make sure to replace the letterbox exactly where you've found it, placing the rock back at the base of the tree so no one can see it.

Here at the Westport Elementary School we participate in Massachusetts Farm to School Harvest of the Month. This months highlight is Dairy! Dairy is a delicious and nutritious way to fuel your body. It’s packed with calcium, which helps build strong bones and teeth, and provides protein for muscle growth. Dairy products like milk, yogurt, and cheese also have important vitamins like B12 and D, making them a great choice for staying healthy and energized. Plus, they’re super versatile—perfect for snacks, meals, or treats!

Happy Hunting!
