Parking is at Gould Meadows in Stockbridge off of Rte 183. Trail is a bit longer than 1 mile but not hilly so this is an easy walk.

Begin at the kiosk, cross the field on the mown path, then enter the woods and continue to an intersection with 3 options which all eventually lead to the Stockbridge Bowl. We like the newly constructed bridge, which is the far left option. The logs to support this bridge are hemlock logs from trees that have fallen near the brook, and the planks on top are locust milled by a local craftsperson.

After you cross the bridge continue straight (don't go left into the field). Go down until you pass the hemlock grove, then turn left to follow the shoreline. You will see two nice benches that are perfect to view the gently lapping water. Continue along the shoreline until you see a big oblong boulder in a sort of clearing on your left. At this boulder, take a sighting of 330. You will find the box hidden at the base of twice dead stump 25 steps away. Please rehide the box well, as this is a very popular trail in the summer.
