Distance to Letterbox: 7.4 miles round trip
Box is located at Delta Lake. This is a tough climb up, with some route finding (Use all trails), but worth it. The lake is stunning. Saw a small bear on way down.
Directions:
Get to the Lupine Meadows Trailhead (in Park).
To the Letterbox:
Hike up the trial 3.6 miles (2,296 feet) to the lake. You will be at the outlet stream. Go right along the bank of the lake for about 50 yards to the largest rock that is going out into the water from the bank. Go another 25 yards past that rock to a double trunk dead tree. Box is on far side, on the uphill side, between tree and a boulder, at the tree's base, under 12 inch flat rock.
