Quin’s Brownlow Adventure - Total Hike to box approx 1/2 mile, mild terrain, not paved
Brownlow trail at Pioneer park is a 280 acre park with fun trails for all skill levels! Located at 1300 Commerce Drive, Prescott, AZ 86305 directly across from Kayla’s hands and the roller hockey rink this recreational area is a perfect place for a family adventure!
Park in the parking lot at Brownlow trail – there are no fees to park.
Ready to find Quin’s Brownlow letter box?
Here we go! There are 3 trail gates from the parking lot.
One is next to the brown trail head sign. One faces the pickle ball courts.
Don’t follow those! Head to the entrance on the south side of the lot, directly opposite of the parking lot entrance, where you’ll quickly find the Scouts Eagle bike repair area and lovely bench in which to rest upon your return.
The trail heads to the right where soon you will come upon a fork, Take a left.
Walk straight past the pioneer trail head marker until you meet the point of 4 trails.
Take the trail on your right. The marker sign has Pioneer Park trail at top with green, purple, and red single-track markers.
Follow the path to the next set of markers where you’ll be met with some additional trail options approx 1/4 to 1/2 mile.
Follow the trail straight with a slight veer to the left.
Do not follow the orange 5k signs.
About 25 feet from the split you will see a Prescott mile-high trail system sign.
Starting from the sign, count 85 paces – give or take depending on your legs
You’ll come upon two junipers – one on the right and one on the left of the path
Look to the tree on the right
Just past the tree turn right and look behind the small brush for a pile of stones up against the base of the tree.
There you will find what you seek!
Watch for critters and be sure to rebury the box when you’re done. This area is HEAVILY traveled!!
