***You Will Need To Bring Your Own Stamp Pad****

This is both in Delaware and PA. I listed the location as Delaware because the larger White Clay Creek State Park is more well known than the adjacent White Clay Creek Preserve. The trail wanders across both states on its way to the corner marker showing where Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland meet.

Be aware that the Pennsylvania portion is hunted. You may want to check Pennsylvania hunting seasons prior to going out on the trail.

Thank you to Messers. Mason and Dixon. They have made an excellent point. You can not say their level of accuracy "knows no boundaries" because their accuracy does know a very specific boundary! Look up these two gentlemen to understand the historic spot to which you are headed and where I am located.

From the parking lot at the end of "Arc Corner Road" (Arc Corner Road itself is off of "Chambers Rock Road."). The All Trails link on this page has an icon to give you driving directions to Arc Corner Road. Print off a copy of the trail map available through the link as a guide.

Trail Loop Length: 3.3 miles. 250 feet elevation gain.

There is some mystery with this box! Three states meet, but it is not apparent.

1. Proceed down the trail.

2. Do not take the first right even though it is marked "Tri-State Trail."

3. Cross a small bridge

4. Take the second right marked "Tri-State Trail." (This is a loop trail which is why you see two references to "Tri-State Trail.")

5. Follow the trail for a mile plus. You are looking for a stone marker with the letter "P" on two sides and the letter "M" on two sides.

6. Bridge 10 is a bridge too far.

7. The marker is in front of twin blue blazes.

8. Follow Freedom's Line (at least up until the 1860's) from the marker and I'm within fifteen yards.

9. Like those who traveled seeking this line and freedom, it is daylight and I am under cover of wood.

10. When you find me, stamp your book, stamp my log contained in the box and please take only one trinket per person.

11. Seal me tight and please return me where found.

12. This is about the halfway point of the trail. Continue across Bridge 10 to complete the loop and return to the parking area.

You are wondering, "if this is where Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Maryland meet, why is the letter D not carved on one face of the marker?" There are two "Ps" and two "Ms," but no "D". To find out look up 'Delaware Wedge' to read the interesting history of the square mile around you. Note the date on the marker and after you read the history you'll understand why only two states are listed on the marker and not three.

Hope you had fun! The girls of Troop 327 – The Mighty Unicorns.
