Part of my Beer Series
Terrain Difficulty: Easy (flat, 0.5 mi RT)
Born on a farm in Kennebunkport, Batson River Brewing captures the joy of New England summers and salty ocean breezes since 2014. So come try a few after finding this box at nearby Tyler Brook Preserve, featuring a trail along the Batson River.
Directions:
For the brewery, go to 12 Western Ave. For the box, go north on Rt 9 for 3.4 mi, then left on Tyler Brook Rd (gravel) to end at small parking area on right for the Preserve.
Clues:
From the parking area, walk to Batson River Trail sign and go on it southwest past a "No Hunting" sign on left to a jct with Tyler Loop Trail. Go left to stay on Batson River Trail to jct with Overlook Trail. Go left on it for 165 steps to a large Y-tree with a red marker. Go right off trail 30 steps to a rock outcrop with a tree growing out of a boulder jutting out. Go two more steps to a boulder with large crevice on top about chest high. LB is within the crevice under rocks & leaves.
