This letterbox was planted on August 2nd, 2023, by a Brownie Girl Scout as a requirement for the Brownie Letterboxing Badge!!! I love animals so I chose a puppy dog stamp and named this box the Puppy Explorer. Please leave me a stamp and a note in the journal when you find this box.
Start from Sandy Creek Park in the parking lot.
Pass 5 yellow posts across the road (to keep cars out) then keep going straight on the main path. It is paved and wide, like a road.
Keep going till you get to an intersection. Turn left to go over the bridge over Sandy Creek. You will be on a dirt trail. Keep going forward on this main dirt trail. There will be little narrow paths on the sides but don’t take them.
Keep walking till you come to a boardwalk. Go over the boardwalk.
Then you will count 4 erosion control strips on the trail.
After the 4th strip, there will be a bench on the left. Look from the bench to the left side of the trail. There will be some trees around a stump that has sticks poking out of it and is about 15-20’ from the trail.
Walk to the stump, off the dirt trail. Remove the sticks and leaves and the letterbox will be there in the stump.
Enjoy! Please leave a stamp in our journal and replace the letterbox in the stump, cover it with leaves, and put the sticks back in the stump. Let us know if you found it by leaving a message on the LbNA or Atlas Quest sites.
