This is the first of a series of letterboxes that I have hidden in hopes that my son falls in love with hiking and the outdoors as much as I have. I have carved a few of my kids' favorite characters for them to find. Enjoy and good luck!

Off of exit 4 from I-95, head north on Indian Field Road. Take a Right on East Putnam Road. Take a left on Orchard Street and then a right on Bible Street. After the ball fields on the left you will see a small building and a playground. Park in the parking lot behind this building. On the north end of the parking lot is your entrance to the trails of Pomerance Park.
Enter the forest at the trail head. This trail is marked with Blue Blazes, the same color as your hidden character! Meow!
You will arrive at a fork after only a few short steps, turn left deeper into the forest and follow the blue blazes along the winding trail.
The tree line will suddenly fall away and you’ll find yourself in an open meadow. Continue on, hugging the trail to your left. Pass over a dry stream with stone steps and small rocks.
The trail will take you to a black screened fence, continue on with the fence on your immediate left.
Shortly passed the corner of this fence where it bends to the left, your trail will fork. Take the right fork with the forest to your immediate right.
At the end of the open meadow area, just after the trail bends left, follow the trail as it heads into the forest to the right and up a small hill.
You will soon come to a 4-way intersection where straight heads up a hill to your passed an old storage room on the left side of the trail. Continue straight up the hill after exploring your 1st fun ancient ruin!
At the top of the hill, you’ll come to a 5 way intersection with a bridge to your right. Take a moment to explore the ancient mansion ruin immediately in front of you.
Look for the staircase toward the back of the mansion marked by a black railing. Take this staircase down until you meet a trail.
Turn left. On your right you will encounter your first pond views and you will shortly come across the ruins of an ancient garden. This is the Northeast corner of the garden.
At the Northwest corner of the garden, you will find some stone benches. While facing the benches, you will notice they form two “L”s. One on your left and one on your right.
Your prize is tucked because one of the benches on your left and has a bronze colored top.
Take some time to enjoy the scenery, grab some water and a snack to celebrate!
Groovy!
