Find your way to the Sakatah Lake State Park in Janesville MN.
Beware of double agents, spies and the KGB. It is a State Park, under government control, so you will need to show papers. Either a daily pass, or a yearly permit.
The maps and markings from the Cold War Era are faded and confusing, but you must find your way to the East end of the park. Travel by car is encouraged. When in doubt, keep to the right.
You should eventually come to an abandoned parking lot (dependent on if anyone else is there). There is a SMALL wetlands/marsh area at the north side of the lot. Just big enough for one turtle, if you're lucky.
If you've made it this far, you should see a STONE BRIDGE to the south. It's not as imposing as the old Berlin Wall, but it should be visible.
Go to the bridge, avoid detection, and head EAST.
On your journey, and on your left you may see,
- a lake
- some elevated bat boxes
Continue EAST. You will cross a paved road. Look both ways before crossing.
You may see a sign for the DOODLE TRAIL. do not fall for this clearly marked misdirection.
Stay on the bike path.
There will be a STONE MARKER ahead on your LEFT.
The stone marker will say WX on the backside.
Is WX russian for "Weapon of mass destruXion"?
Translation is unclear.
You should encounter a path to the SOUTH.
You should see a STONE MARKER labeled M32.
Is this a hidden missile silo ? Unknown.
There should be a trail marker on the RIGHT hand side of the path.
Look for the BLUE DIAMOND to confirm.
Ahead in the distance you may see a bridge.
We are unsure if this bridge has fallen under enemy control.
DO NOT CROSS THE BRIDGE.
Gather your wits and look at your surroundings.
APPROXIMATELY.....1/3 of the distance, from the bike path to the bridge is where you must truly begin your search.
Off to the right you should see a MOSSY ROCK garden.
Many rocks, but which one holds the secret ?
If you are and average height human, and you are 1/3 of the way down the path, you should be able to see, at your eye level, a collection of rocks at the base of a tree. There is a flat rock. Look under the flat rock.
Say hello to Comrade Capitol (code name Moss Cow).
Hike length: 1 mile
