Little Laurel Lime Ridge Park is a 209 acre park owned by the Town of Seymour. The park features old mining roads leading to the ruins of an early 1800's colonial limestone kiln, marble caves, stone shelters and quarries. It offers spectacular views of the Housatonic River from rock outcrops. Find maps using AllTrails app, or Gaia GPS app. Park your car in the cul de sac on Tibbets Road, Seymour. This is a blue trail loop, and you will want to do it in a counterclockwise direction. There are many unmarked trails in the park, so stay on the blue. Start from Tibbets on the blue trail. As the blue trail forks, take the fork to the right. Now just stay on the blue trail until you reach the 90 degree overlook at approximately 0.78 mile. Enjoy the view! From the overlook, continue on the trail, walk 80 steps towards a large 3' rectangular boulder on the left of the trail. Continue 10 steps on trail past the boulder. Stop and take a compass bearing of 300 degrees and walk 18 steps. On the left is a tilting rock ledge. The Duc waits for you there, under the ledge, next to the tree. Continue to follow the blue trail loop back to your car. The trail markers get a bit hard to follow towards the end, so a GPS is helpful, but not necessary. Just keep your eye out for the blue marks.

Hike length: 1-2 miles
