In order to begin this search, head West of Helena and onto Priest Pass Rd. The drive is best accomplished in a vehicle with good ground clearance. Eventually you will come to a small parking area surrounded by boulders as the road comes to a level spot. Park here.
Harold is a friend of ours who frequents this area. It shouldn’t be too difficult to follow the clues and find him. The walk should take no longer than fifteen minutes in good weather. In the winter, however, it may be all but impossible.
Once parked, walk up the side road on the south side of Priest Pass Road. The road soon appears to terminate. Pass the large rocks at about 145 degrees SE, and you will rejoin an old logging road. Follow this until you come to a curve to the right with a nice view of the valley to the ESE. From there, you will be required to scramble up the hill on the right to the nearby rock outcropping, which provides an even better view. It is there that you will meet up with Harold.
He is in a steel ammunition container, and is a Geocaching hybrid.
Hike length: 0.1 miles
