Park in the parking lot for the Battersea United Church, 2216 Church St. At the back of the parking lot, you'll see the entrance for the NCC Trail around the pond. This is owned and managed by the Nature Conservancy of Canada. Walk straight ahead for about 10 steps and then take the trail to the left. There are markers on trees on regular intervals and the trail is also well worn so it's easy to follow. The pond will be on your right the whole time as you go around it in a clockwise direction. Stop and look for trumpeter swans, a wide variety of birds and lots of different types of trees and wildflowers. When you get to the far side of the pond, you'll be going over a dam that is managed by Ducks Unlimited. Once you've crossed the dam, walk up a short but steep hill that will take you to a wider trail that ATV's can drive on. Continue to your right. While still in the forest, at the 2km mark, there will be a small pile of boulders on your right. Walk 12 steps past this pile until you come to a very straight and sturdy Ash tree with thick gold fungus around the bottom, on your left. Turn left at this tree and walk 7 steps perpendicular to the trail. into the forest and you'll see 2 small boulders leaning up against each other creating a space underneath. There are 3 rocks covering the opening to the space and if you remove these 3 rocks, you'll find the letterbox! Replace the letterbox carefully so that it will stay dry and hidden and enjoy the remaining 1km of the trail back to the church parking lot.
