Lots of toe trips, narrow gnarly paths, and possible muddy spots on this quest. The walk is fairly flat with some hilly areas. I've also noted a few BONUS areas along the way that have nothing to do with finding the letter box, but are interesting places to check out if you so choose. ENJOY!

1. Park anywhere in the La Salette lot.

2. Follow the paved walkway between the Chapel of Light and the Church then onto the dirt path. As the dirt path curves to the right, keep walking straight onto the grass and up the hill.

3. Cross the paved roadway and continue up the next hill to the fenced tree line. Turn left at the tree line and follow to the far corner; continue on the path into the woods.

BONUS - if you feel adventurous, look for a set of stairs to your right that lead down to an abandoned well house that you can check out. If not, keep following the path.

4. Step over the downed tree blocking the path or follow to the left around it. Whichever way you pick to go around the tree, turn right to enter the wildlife sanctuary. Then another right to enter the Reflection Trail.

5. As you come up to Brother's Pond on the left, look for the Oak Forest Loop on your right. Enter the Loop and cross over the first short bridge. Now your adventure begins!

6. As you walk this gnarly path, watch for the root and rock toe-trips. The path will skirt the stream, or stream bed if the season is dry, on your left. Cross the second short bridge and keep following the Oak Forest Loop to the long bridge.

7. When you come to the long bridge, cross over the river and get ready to go through the woods. Watch your step! Along with more toe-trips you may encounter muddy patches.

8. As you're walking keep on the lookout for a Y in the path near a blue tree marker; marker will be on the right. Turn left at the Y going past the big boulders and rocks sitting along the path.

9. Look for an enormous boulder blocking the path. Find your way around it and continue.

BONUS - this is a great place to take a break and sit for a while.

10. Time to walk the plank! Take your time and watch your step. Depending on the weather conditions, the planks could be slippery. Also, watch for muddy patches before you step on and as you step off the planks.

11. The path will continue for a while, and eventually you will see one more Oak Forest Loop trail sign. Turn left at this marker.

12. The path will start to get a little wider and have less toe-trips to deal with. As the path opens up and takes a sharp turn to the right, look for a huge four-fingered oak tree. Search around the tree to find the Box. Be sure to take a "lucky stone"!

BONUS - on the left side of this path there is a pine grove to explorer and check out the homemade lean-tos.

13. To leave this area, continue on the Oak Forest Loop in the same direction you were going before. The path will become much easier to walk. Stay left when you come to the Y on the path then turn right at the large boulder back onto the main trail and you will end up back at the entrance to the Wildlife Sanctuary.

14. From here you can retrace your steps to get back to your vehicle, or continue to walk straight until you see the pond. Walk left around the pond and you will soon see the parking area.

Hope you enjoyed the walk.
