Little Forest Jr Trail from Overlook parking
Difficulty: Easy
Distance: .8 miles
Just a bunch of fun stamps I had no place for.
Directions:
Enter park, pay fee, get map. Drive past camping area, then go right on one-way road with lake on left. Just after turn to right to Juniper Ridge campground, park in lot for overlook.
To the Letterboxes:
Box 1 – “Lucky Find“ – Go across the road and take the Little Forest Junior Trail (1st trail, yellow) to the right. Count 90 steps (just past step down off rock ledge). Go right 5 steps to left side of a cedar tree that has rock ledge running across its back side. Box is at left base under a rock.
Box 2 – “Frito Bandito” – Continue 170 steps to a sprawling cedar tree on the right, 4 steps off the trail. Go to back base under rock.
Box 3 – “Larry Lion” – Go 120 steps to a cedar tree on the right edge of trail at a curve. Box at back base of that tree under a rock.
Box 4 – “Texas Gal” – Go on to dirt roadway and “Hiking Trail” sign, cross over and count 28 steps. Go left off trail to cedar tree. Box at back base under rock.
Box 5 – “Dark Knight” – Go 76 steps to small Yellow marked cedar tree on right. Go left 10 steps to big cedar tree. Box at back base under rock.
Box 6 – “Told you to use lotion” – Go 100 steps to Yellow marked cedar tree on right. Go left 20 steps to large cedar tree. Box at back base under rock.
Box 7 – “Big Bear” – Go 78 steps to Yellow marked cedar tree on right. Go left 18 steps to huge cedar tree. Box at back base under rock.
