In the book Ready Player One by Ernest Cline, the primary escape for most people is a virtual universe called the OASIS, created by James Halliday. Before he died, Halliday created a quest for an Easter Egg in an attempt to find an heir for his vast fortune and pass ownership of the OASIS simulation to someone worthy. In order to find the Egg, people would need to find three keys: Copper, Jade & Crystal, and open three gates scattered throughout the OASIS. This series involves a similar quest, but will take place in Meridian State Park using clues given below.
Directions:
From Hwy 6 go southwest on Hwy 22 about 2.5 mi, then right into the park where you will pay a toll and get a trail map.
Copper Key:
Your quest starts on a sad-colored trail
By an apiary that is beyond the pale
Many steps you must take
To north end of the lake
And group of cedars at sharp bend in the trail
Jade Key:
Continue on your northern lumber
To bridge and a change in direction
Go three times the Park Rd number
Right to cedar with leftward inclination
Crystal Key:
A right cedar is your next reason
To be on a trail named not for a senior
But you must pass wildflowers in season
Fifty steps past a jct to reveal her
Easter Egg:
Continue on the trail you have trode
At least 40 steps past the road
Look right for a tree
With trunks of three
For the egg to be bestowed
Hike length: 1-2 miles
