Go to 103 Reservoir Avenue in Johnston RI, just north of the intersection with Central Avenue. This is Wood Lake Park.

Enter the park, and pass a small ballfield on your left, continuing straight and then right as you see a second ballfield and a small parking lot.
"Parking for dog park", or to the left of those signs, is where you will park.

Notice a "no ATVs or dirt bikes sign" and a sign saying "handicapped parking" with three up arrows - this is where you will walk down a little road, keeping the second ball field on your left. Don’t go to the bigger ball field with the bleachers. See photo.

Walk through the two gates each to get into, then out of, the little dog park (you have to go through it to get to the trails) [watch your step for "tootsie rolls"]. Once on the trail, walk through an opening in a stone wall, then ignore a left turn that’s blocked by a log, and then stay right at a T where there’s a hollow tree ahead of you. At the next intersection, go straight rather than taking the right at the intersection. This leads you down towards the water.

Notice a red pine (rough chunks of bark) on the left side of the trail, across from a Y shaped tree on the right. Go back 4 steps and turn around, facing the water again, then walk right (south) 37 steps, keeping 2 medium hardwoods on your right, to a 2 sister tree with a tall hollow section. In a chest high part of the hollow, on the water side, is your prize.

No logbook in the box; please log online.

This being near Valentines' Day and the RFDs both working in healthcare, Mr RFD took inspiration from his wedding band and carved the EKG tracing from the band for the box. Enjoy and FEEL some love!!!

If you reach a seasonally wet area, you’ve gone a bit too far.
