This box appears to be MIA.
Last checked/found: 2-FEB-2021
Distance/Terrain: Short level walk, less than a mile
Do some research to find the location of a preserve honoring the Hohokam settlement that was built and lived in by families from roughly AD 650 to 1200. Its current name refers to an industrious insect that lives in colonies. Please be respectful of the location and do not remove any artifacts you may see. Learn about the people and the village by reading the informative signs.
There is a small paved parking lot and from there you can enter the fenced preserve via a zig zag entrance. Walk the loop counterclockwise until you can learn about Building Community. Take 34 more steps along the trail until you are adjacent to a young palo verde. Take 24 steps in on the left to a catclaw acacia. One of the small rocks near its base is what you seek. Be careful opening the container, items are loose inside.
If you hunt for this box, we'd appreciate an email message to let us know how the box is doing. Thanks!
