HWY 169 between Mankato and St Peter.

Enter the park, and go all the way to the end of the road/pavement/parking lot.

There is a map of all the trails located there.


From that location you will see a red wooden bridge off to your right.
This is where your journey begins.

After crossing the red wooden bridge you will encounter a fork in the path. Choose the right hand side.

Continue walking and you'll cross a small drainage ditch then a large drainage ditch ( washed out in 2020) but should be recognizable even if repaired.

You will then cross a bridge, and then encounter another fork in the path. The path on the left starts with a bridge, DO NOT GO THAT WAY. Go to the right. It will be marked as "trail 1".

Go up a slight incline, down a slight decline and down another decline and the path will gradually bring you closer to the water. You should hear the babbling of the creek (in the summertime).

After the trail levels out, you'll encounter some twists and turns. A well worn path should appear on the right hand side. Take that path to the rivers edge.

At the waters edge. Turn left, take 20 adult male steps, and look for a tree with rocks at its base.
