Enjoy a lunchtime stroll and a rewarding box lunch! I recommend bringing red, orange, green, and black inks.
Enter the park at Netherlands road at the emerald necklace, just beside the Town of Brookline Water and Sewer Division building. Follow the paved path to the left, with the water to your right. Proceed down the path and say hello to the ducks. You’ll pass 3 benches, walk beneath a large copper-colored stone bridge, and past the Longwood T stop. After one more bench, bear right at the fork to cross a bridge to the other side of the water. Take a right at the bottom of the stone staircase ahead of you (don’t climb it), to stay on the gravel path and head on this new path in the direction of your starting point. Four more benches will pass you on the left. Walk beneath the copper bridge once more and immediately pause to see the social path up toward the street, on your left. (This will be a total of 0.65 miles from your starting position if following this clue). Look up to the right of this path to see two large trunk trees. Your lunch will be hidden behind a rock in a nook at the base of the tree farther from the path, where large roots have created a small cavern (facing the path from which you’ve come). Enjoy your lunch and replace the rock when you’re full!
