Park in the Historic Occoneechee Trailhead lot and take the sandy trail at the far end, towards the Speedway. At the trail map, stay to the right and take a left onto the speedway. As you walk, you will see a set of stone bleachers set in the face of the hill on your left. Go up the set of metal steps, but do not ascend the stone bleachers. Take a right and follow the metal wire fence. Continue straight until you find the Eno River in front of you, and note a broken, rusty metal wire fence. Walk toward the river, staying to the left of the fence. There is a large, hollow stump close to the river bank, where the water spirit washed up and made a home for themselves. If the conditions are right, you might enjoy some wind chimes as you stamp in.
