The Lighthouse on Saint Simons Island, GA has such rich history. I would encourage everyone to visit the Visitors Center, the Lighthouse, and the Lighthouse Museum.
Please read the history of the lighthouse and the keepers of the light. https://lighthousevacations.com/st-simons-island-history/
I planted this box away from the highly landscaped and closely watched secure area of the downtown. However, if you wish to check out the beach, you will love the place I found at Massengale Park. There is parking and even a shower/changing house.
The letterbox is attached to the tree in hopes it will remain permanently in the tree. Please do not remove the container from the tree - just open the lid to retrieve what is inside.
Pull into Massengale Park and slowly make your way to the parking lot closest to the beach. Just before you enter that section is a ONE WAY ------> sign. But don't look to the right as the arrow suggests. Look left for a cedar tree along the fence to the left near a power pole. Back by the power pole about 4 feet high, I have attached a prescription bottle to a branch. DO NOT REMOVE THE BOTTLE FROM THE TREE! Please just open the lid, get the contents out, stamp in, and return the stamp and logbook to the container and replace the lid to hold the contents inside. Please be stealth and watch for muggles.
If you are boxing with children, please help them to understand that responsibility is important in letterboxing so that the box remains for the next person and in good condition. Please zip lock baggies closed. Please inspect to see that the letterbox is where the clue says it should be. Please record your find on AQ so the planter knows that the box is still in an active position and condition.
Happy Letterboxing! There is a HH for the first finder. Only tiny HHs will fit here.
