There are several ways to access this letterbox. Our favorite is by way of a loop trail.

Please remember that this estuary is an environmentally protected area that consists of extremely sensitive habitat. Keep dogs leashed and stay on trails at all times.

Start at the roundabout at the west end of Main Street. Walk around the new townhouses to the left then turn right over the swampy channel. Carefully continue across the train tracks into the estuary, enjoying the unique landscape and views of Shannon Falls. This trail will eventually turn right and open up a bit as you pass through the old West Barr Site - an old industrial log sort that was recently restored.

After you pass by the second covered bench, the trail curves right again. Take another right immediately after the first bridge onto an established, but skinnier trail. The letterbox is under the blue bench around the halfway point.

When you connect back with the train tracks, turn right and follow them back to the start of the trail, using the trail beside the tracks.

Hike length: 2-3 miles
