This carve was originally done by ChaCha Cheetah and placed in Stone Oak Park as part of a bird series over a decade ago. When my kids and I went hiking there a couple of years ago, we were only able to find 1, while another was disintegrated and the Carolina Wren had been stolen. All that was left was the laminated picture and description card of the bird inside the box. So we took it home and I set about recarving it based on the picture.
Then, it sat in my house for the last year and a half and I finally decided since we never get out that way towards Stone Oak anymore I might as well drop it someplace nearby for the world to enjoy :) This stamp is the 2nd I've placed at Northrup Park here in Boerne, so it should give everyone another reason to visit. Here's your clue!

After arriving at the park, turn left at the stop sign and go down the hill towards the baseball fields. There are 3 sets of fields down there, and you'll want to continue past the first (with the playground) When you get to the 2nd stop sign, turn right and drive all the way to the end of the row of parking spaces that are between the 2nd and 3rd set of baseball fields.
When you get out you should see in front of you a long wide sidewalk that goes towards a forest.

Walk towards the woods between two signs,
that tell you you're between 10 and 9.
Go all the way down to where the sidewalk ends,
Then 40 more paces to a dirt path bend.
Choose left at the fork and then prepare
to walk 190 steps (plus one till your there)
You'll reach the end of the forest path
meeting piles and mounds of this and that.
Look to the right and see an old fence,
rusty barbed wire I went ahead and bent.
Stepping over the line weighed down by logs,
Walk 10 steps further to the tree at 1 o'clock.
There's a rock/branch arrow pointing off to the right
where you'll go 15 more paces, the goal now in sight.

Look to the left where a single tree stands,
near all that is left of a wall made by hand.
Go to the tree and there hidden in the wall
on the back side of the stones, the letterbox calls.
