Since I teach Science, I love to learn the history behind the equipment. Of all the flasks used in chemistry, the most iconic is the Erlenmeyer flask. Named after the German chemist Richard August Carl Emil Erlenmeyer, who created the flask in 1860, it’s designed so that its contents can be swirled easily without spilling out. Fun Fact: To impede illicit drug manufacturers, the state of Texas has restricted the sale of Erlenmeyer flasks to those who have the requisite permits. The permit is administered by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
This is the first box of several science-themed boxes that I will be planting. They are not officially a series, but it might be fun if you collected them all!
CLUE: Forget the frozen stiff ice cream that has been sitting in the freezer for much too long. At Creamistry, (3900 California Ave #200, Bakersfield, CA) they serve ice cream using liquid nitrogen to prepare customized, handcrafted ice cream right before your eyes! After you enjoy a yummy treat, go to the north end of the parking lot near the Blaze Pizza and casually find the light post. Lean up on the post while you eat your Ice cream. Under the box at the base of the light pole, on top of the concrete base is what you seek. Be very, very careful as you claim your prize here as many muggles may be watching you. It might be best to get this one after hours!
