This series was planted during a multi-family campout with 4 little girls ages 5 and 7. They loved this hike (and did a great job even though the terrian is tough!) and had fun hiding these boxes for others to enjoy.

Beginning at the Crystal Cave Trail, hike the trail until you reach the Crystal Cave. Enjoy and explore the 30 foot deep cave! This is a busy area, so be sure to wait for a break in the crowd before hunting for this box! From the tree with the cave sign on it, walk downhill 16 steps. On the left side there is a steep incline with a multitrunk tree about 5 feet up/away from trail. The "Raining heart" box is found at the base of this tree covered in rocks. Please re-hide well.

Continue on the trail until you reach the main overlook area. The area is large with many locations for beautiful photos and viewing the landscape. Locate the sign pointing to "Painted Rock". With your back against the painted rock sign, look up the hill. At about 11 o'clock, there will be a large multitruck tree. The box is at the base of the tree, covered in rocks. Please re-hide well.

After the overlook, the Crystal Cave Trail blends with the Bridges trail on the way down the hill. Continue to follow. The trail will encounter a large man-made square pillar about 3 feet tall with a yellow painted footprint on it which continues to man made stairs. From the bottom of the stairs, count 12 steps (go past a big rock that looks like swiss cheese on your right). At the 12 step mark, look to the right up the hill. There will be a large tree. The unicorn is hiding under some rocks at the base of the tree.

Continue down the hill on the trail until you come upon the landmarked "big cedar" on the right. It will have a park sign hanging from it noting its importance. The castle letterbox is at the back base of the big cedar covered in rocks.

The series can also be found in reverse if you start your hike at the bridges trail and hook up to the Crystal Cave trail.

Hike length: 0.5 miles
