Terrain Difficulty: Moderate (moderate slope, 200 yards RT)
Status: alive
Pagosa skyrocket is a rare species of flowering plant in the phlox family that occurs only in the vicinity of Pagosa Springs. It is white in color with tiny purple dots, and one place you might see it is on the Skyrocket Trail in Reservoir Hill Park, where this box can be found.
Directions:
From Hwy 160 just east of the San Juan Motel turn south at sign for Reservoir Hill and park at Skyrocket Trailhead.
Clues:
Walk up Skyrocket Trail 85 steps and look right for two pine trees together just left of a pine tree branching over the trail. Work your way behind the two pines for LB at back base of furthest one under a rock and needles.
Hike length: 0.1 miles
