Prohibition Sculpture,
21 S. State Street
Begin at the sculpture.
Facing State Street, walk about six steps to the wooden bench
From here, walk 25 steps toward Police Division Headquarters. You should be standing with a streetlight on your left.
Follow the stone path to your right until you get to some steps.
Find the box hidden in ivy to the left of the steps.
BOX #2-
Stoner House
133 S. State St.
Start at the Stoner House marker.
Cross the lawn to the pine tree. (About 30 steps)
Turn to your left to find the fire escape.
Walk to the fire escape.
Ahead of you, you will see a stone wall.
Look behind it.
BOX #3-
Anti-Saloon League Headquarters
110 S. State St.
Start at the front steps.
Facing State Street, walk down the steps and 10 paces down the walkway.
You should be standing next to a large tree.
Use your climbing skills, (or a nearby stick) to find the box!
BOX #4-
Hanby Park
Start facing the flagpole with the train depot behind you.
Head right to find the sign for the 9th president from Ohio.
With the sign at your back, cross the playground 26 steps to the “Gardening Grandmas” bench.
From here, find the tree representing the president who died just 27 months into his term.
Find the box hidden in the bush about 10 steps directly behind you.
BOX #5-
Emerson Elementary School
44 N. Vine Street
From the sidewalk, climb the steps to the flagpole.
With the pole at your back, walk 23 steps to the “schoolhouse” sign
Continue around the corner to the fire escape.
Look for the 2 and 3 signs on the wall. Between them, there is a pole.
Look behind the pole to find the box.
BOX #6-
Holmes Hotel
3 W. Main Street
Start at the plaque that says “The Westerville Hotel.”
Walk 6 steps west. You will see 4 bushes in front of a small white fence.
Look behind the fence behind the first of four bushes. You will find the box.
BOX #7-
Hanby House
160 W. Main Street
Start at the front steps.
Circle around to the back of the house to the place where Mrs. Hanby would pick vegetables while her husband was out “Freedom Crusading.”
Inside the gate, look on your immediate right for a pot that has been overturned.
Find the letterbox underneath the pot.
BOX #8-
Carnegie Library/Clippinger Hall
102 W. College Ave.
Start at the top of the stairs facing College Ave.
Walk down the first set of steps.
Turn right and circle around the building until you find an A/c unit on the Grove Street side of the building.
The box is hidden underneath.
BOX #9-
Towers Hall
1 S. Grove Street
Start at the red Otterbein University sign on the Grove Street side of Towers Hall.
Walk towards the front steps of the building.
In the flower bed to the right, find the stone plaque that reads: “Class 34 IVY.”
Look for the small gray metal box below the stone plaque.
Find the letterbox under the metal box.
BOX #10-
Otterbein Cemetery
175 S. Knox St.
Begin at the Walnut Street entrance.
Follow the road back until the fork.
Turn right, following the path of the giant tree and Rutherford grave.
Continue along the road until you find the Hanby graves.
Directly behind the Hanby Monument, there is a low cement wall. Look behind this wall to find the final box!
