From Highway 61 go to Lower Afton Rd. E., take Park Entrance Rd. 400 and you are now at Battle Creek Regional Park. Head out on the asphalt trail...waterfalls and sandstone cliffs will be your companion. Forward past the boulder, water flows one way. You go the other. Find your crossing to the other side. Walking under nature's arch step 8 paces towards a chorus of water.
Now look for a trail of needles to take you up, up, up as your real hike begins. Take a breath at the fork in the road, then choose your path. If you go through the woodsy opening it will lead you down, down, down to an even dozen carpet of stones and nearby falling water.
Your next trail will be here. Follow the deer...your prize is near. You will come to a fern forest... walk to the end of it and seek 2 dark rocks. Your treasure awaits.
Get down to the asphalt path anyway you can. Your work is done.
Please replace the letterbox securely when you leave. If you have any questions or comments you can email sanjuanjoan@gmail.com
Hike length: 1-2 miles
