A Glorious Day! letterbox is planted on the grounds of the historic Brook Farm 670 Baker St, West Roxbury, MA 02132
:
At the entrance to Brook Farm drive up the road until you arrive at
an historic marker on your right briefly explaining the history of Brook Farm and showing a map of the walking trails.
Continue driving up the winding road until you approach the entrance to the Church of the Garden of Gethsemane.
On your right will be a trail head with a metal gate and ample parking.
1. Start down the trail.
2. A ways down you will see a pond on your right.
3. You will pass many large downed trees on your left.
4. Continue walking and a large boulder will be on either side of the trail.
5. Stay on the path as it bears to the left.
6. Path takes you down a slight hill
7. A large cemetery will be on your left.
8. Path curves to the right.
9. Ahead on your left you should notice a dramatic tree uprooted laying on its side. It’s next to a large bolder.
10. Continue on path as the path turns right and down.
11. From the intersection of a path on your left that goes off into the cemetery stay on the main path and walk 50 steps.
12. You can see the remains of a handmade bridge directly off to your right.
11. Stop and look to your left. You should see a large boulder near the base of a tree.
12. Walk toward the boulder that is at the bottom of a steep incline. Above our sought out boulder is an even larger boulder at the crest of the small hill.
13. At the back side of the smaller boulder tucked under a blanket of leaves A Glorious Day! letterbox awaits you.
Hike length: 0.1 miles
