The first Little House book was written about this Cabin near Lake Pepin & is the birthplace of Mary & Laura Ingalls. It is such a lovely little place tucked into a cleared bit of corn field. It has a few large lovely trees around that you can imagine Mary & Laura playing under with their dolls.
The Wayside Cabin is located about 7 miles outside of Pepin, WI. Once you've parked, have a wander up to the cabin & a stroll through. As you exit the cabin, notice ahead & to your right is the only evergreen tree in the clearing. Round on the side of this tree that faces the cabin, tucked up under by the trunk, under sticks and litter is what you seek.
Hike length: 0.1 miles
