Walk up to the big wooden sign in front of the office building. When you are facing the sign you will notice a sidewalk-path just to the right of the sign. Walk around to the back of the sign using that path. There amongst the many different native plants, you will find some ferns. Ferns are low to the ground and look like plants that were around during the time of the dinosaurs because they are in fact a very ancient type of plant. Gently pull back the ferns to find your reward. It is being guarded by a Frog. Be sure to hide as well as you found and put the Frog back on top of his treasure.
Your treasure, the Lady Slipper Flower comes in pink and yellow. It is one of the many native wildflower species that can be found in this area. It is a special little flower and a historical symbol for our organization because we strive to protect native plant species such as these. Feel free to come on inside for a fresh gulp of water from our water fountain after you hunt and ask some questions about land conservation if you would like to learn more.
