Vermillion county has many old cemeteries filled with history from Pioneers of the past-
To find these Pioneers of the park, go to Kennekuk County Park and find parking lot for Adrian's Pond and Raccoon Run Trail. There you will see a sign for the Lorrence Pioneer Cemetery- follow the trail as it leads to what remains of this historic resting place. Pay your respects and follow the headstones passing the wooden cross on the left and continue past the cemetery as it begins to go down hill. You will see a side trail to the left heading down hill- follow it down to the bottom. There you will see a multi-trunk on your right, carefully check it's base- it is guarded sharply on one side - and if you crossed the ditch you went to far. Please recover well- hope you enjoyed this short hike and a piece of pioneer history.
