This letterbox is part of the GO and Build a Better World! program in Adams County. It will be available from June 3, 2017 to July 29, 2017. Further details about the program may be found at www.goadams.org.
The GO and Build a Better World! program requires you to search for up to 15 “landmarks” – wooden posts with engraved plates on them, instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please use a colored pencil or crayon to carefully rub the impression onto your GO and Build a Better World! rubbing sheet, available for free at any Adams County Library.
This letterbox may be accessed from the parking area off Panther Drive in Conewago Township. GO Adams! level of difficulty = Easy
- From the parking lot, locate and walk to the electrical panel. Just beyond the panel is a T intersection in the paved path. Turn left and walk back toward the road.
- At the sidewalk, turn right and walking along the street until you reach another paved path on your right. Stay on this path as it curves to the right. At the end of the treeline, turn left. A chain-line fence should be on your right.
- Notice the line of trees. The post you seek should be located at the base of the 4th tree on your left.
- To return to your vehicle, turn around, walk back to the paved path, and take a left. When you reach the intersection, turn right and remain on the paved path.
