This letterbox is part of the GO and Build a Better World! program in Adams County. It will be available from June 3, 2017 to July 29, 2017. Further details about the program may be found at www.goadams.org.
The GO and Build a Better World! program requires you to search for up to 15 “landmarks” – wooden posts with engraved plates on them, instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please use a colored pencil or crayon to carefully rub the impression onto your GO and Build a Better World! rubbing sheet, available for free at any Adams County Library.
GO Adams! level of difficulty = Moderate
- Near the left side of the parking lot, locate the “Wall of Honors” sign.
- Walk past that sign and cross the wooden bridge. Immediately turn left on the gravel trail and walk past the play area.
- Stay on this trail as it passes a well and winds through the park. When you reach the purple metal seats, notice in which direction the creek flows.
- Continue along the trail until you reach a white post. Turn left, cross the creek and follow it downstream.
- As you walk, you will notice a tall tree that seems to stand above the others. The post is located near this tree.
- To return to your vehicle, retrace your steps across the creek and then turn left on the gravel trail.
- Stay on the gravel trail as it passes another bridge and play area. When you reach the second bridge, turn left and continue back to the parking lot.
