Terrain Difficulty: Moderate (slight slope, 2 miles RT)
Status: alive
The River Place Nature Trail consists of three trails in the River Place Neighborhood: Fern Trail, Canyon Trail and Panther Hollow Trail, which follows Panther Hollow Creek and where this box is located.
Directions:
From Hwy 360 go northwest on RR 2222 about 3 miles and turn left on River Place Blvd. Go about 3 miles to Big View Dr and turn right for 0.7 mile to Boardwalk trailhead for River Place Nature Trails on right. Park on street.
Clues:
Walk on sidewalk past kiosk and curve around lake on boardwalk through a shelter to Panther Hollow Trail on left before end of boardwalk. Go up steps on trail along creek to jct with Little Fern Trail on right. Continue straight on Canyon Trail as it goes up and down, past trail sign C9 and a pool with a bench, to trail sign C8 on left where trail narrows between rocks above a small waterfall. Go left off trail along ledge 12 steps to low cedar branch. Step over and look right under rock overhang for letterbox under rocks. Please re-hide well since people climb all over this area.
Hike length: 1-2 miles
